Help me with a design that switches light using infrared ?

if I want to control of light using microcontroller (switch it on or off) by using infraread remote control


can you help me to do this

Use RC5 coding and the PIC612 receiver chip

U can design a simple ir reciever circuit and connect the o/p to your pic

for the reciever circuit check this link

Use TSOP ir demodulators from Vishay as receptors, with additional electronics, and PIC based modulator ( merely +/- 38kHz oscillator ) as emmiter.
