Hi all
please look at the attached circuit, it is designed by our former power-supply designer engineer
this is hot-swap controller MAX5993A for 48V
there is a D11, a schottky diode, connected to GND, that I don't understand it's purpose. What it used for?

Just a guess - if it's a hot swap PSU it may be necessary to protect it during plug in and unplug where some connections may make or break before others.
Brian.

the purpose of MAX5993 is to handle these plug/unplug events, even so, I don't understand how the diode can help. At first, I thought it for reverse polarity protection, but for this purpose, the diode should be place on VCC pin, not the GND
