DAC selection

I need to select a DAC for testing of ADC( 10bit and 50Khz).
I understand that DAC should be 12 bit 50KHz.
If I use 10bit 40MHz DAC, does it give the performance of 12bit 50KHz DAC.
I operate the 40MHz DAC with 50KHz clock. Does it give the settling accuracy value better than 10bit.
or I should use 12 bit DAC only.
please help me

Re: DAC selection

I do not think 10bit DAC can give you the performance of 12bit DAC.

The resolution is not relate to frequency closely.

DAC selection

You should used 12bit DAC .

Re: DAC selection

You can use 10-bit DAC, but you must add a low pass filter which -3dB frequency is 50KHz after the DAC. The operating frequency of the DAC must be high than 400KHz. This structure use the concept of oversampling. You can see this concept in sigma delta modulator.

DAC selection

i think you can do an ideal dac with veriloga.if your adc is a slice, perhaps you should select enob=10bit dac.
