Help me make a circuit that will write something

i am looking of a circuit to write something
like my name.one way is of doing it with leds but is there any other way of doing that plz tell me

Hi,
You can take a small laser pen and build a small X,Y motor that will move the beam using reflectors.
If you will move it fast enough and over and over on the same route you will get at the end your name or what ever you will write.

That sounds a bit too complicated, i would just use several seven segment displays. Sorry i havnt got a circuit for it though.
