I think you should begin with C then C++.
From C/C++, you can move easily to any other language.
C and C++ are very strong PC programming languages.
All MS Windows versions, UNIX, and Linux are built using C.
Most of the graphics programs (3D studio MAX, Flash, Adobe Acrobat, PhotoShop …etc) are built using C/C++.
A form of C, called "embedded C" is the second commonly used language in programming Embedded Systems (after "Assembly" of course).
If you like "JAVA", you should know that C/C++, and Java have a very very similar syntax.
Because of its power; most (if not all) engineers dealing with software prefer C/C++.
And there is two known says:
1)"C/C++ is bounded by your imagination."
2)"C/C++ is not for children."; as it may cause serious problems if not handled probably, and for some people, its bugs are hard to find.
