Paralel port input help

I think I'll have to rephrase the last thread.
I want to send a signal from a pic (pin sources up to 25mA and sinks 20) to the parallel port. PIC is powered via USB (I guess the ground is common between parallel port and USB) and it outputs a value on a pin depending on a result inside its processing.

The input pins of the parallel port are high in floating mode. I can't seem to get the right resistor values and configuration. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Izua

Re: Paralel port input help

You should read more on the parallel port.

Specially, open collector pins + pullup resistors

and

ECP mode/Bidirectional mode.

Use google and you will learn more than what anyone can tell you. Plus, use the search facility at EDABoard - your work is done for you.
