RFID reader

hi everyboday. it is the first time i post. hope everyone will help me and me suggestion.

i am doing a project on RTLS, using RFID technology.
the range to cover is about 50m

1>
actually, if i would like to buy a reader module, any good suggestion ?
as i know, able to cover long range is expensive, around $xxx USD. is there any module or kit that is programmable ? and not expensive ?

2>
actually, i seek from web that there is a set of module/kit that can programmable and software provided. however, the frequency is only around 125kHz. i wonder if i can add amplifier to increase the covering range. is it possible ?

3>
if i use bluetooth chip set to replace the reader, is it good to do so ?
if so, any good suggestion ?

4>
any good books that topic on antenna design ?? i am still beginner. but would to have both begin to advance level.......

so thanks

Re: RFID reader

To get good coverage at 50m using RFID you have to use active tags (tags with own supply). Do a search on internet and you will find some manufacturers). What I know the price is less than 100$.
To add an amplifier for 125kHz try this:

For antenna books search this forum, ebook-upload-download
Good luck
