When i install ldv50 under linux, do i must install software from cdrom?

Thanks!

No necessary. If you have the tar files, you can simply untar them. And then in the CD1 directory, you will find a script named setup.sh. Just run it with "./setup.sh".

yes. i have untar the files, and find setup.sh in CD1 directory. But i still can't install ldv50. The following are the installation process. Pls read it and teach me, Thanks !

Steps:
A: Main Menu
1) load available products
2) list installed products
3).......

Type your choice: 1 (I select 1st option)

B: CD#1 of the media ste being used is required
You must now identify where the cd_rom is mounted
1) local (mounted to this machine)
2) Remote (mounted to another machine)

Type your choice: 1 ( I select 1st option)

C: Specify the cd_rom mount point
1) cd_rom
2) other

Type your choice: 2 (I select 2nd option)

and then enter the dirctory of mount point: /tools/ldv50/cd1

The return infor is " image not found
unable to read media /tools/ldv50/cd1".

So, here, i cant continute install my software. My installation file is in dirctory "/tools/ldv50/cd1 and /tools/ldv50/cd2".

tsinghua,
Could you give me some advice? Thank you!

David

Any another guy's suggestions are welcome. Thank you all!

Hi!

1. Create directory (Ex. /home/tmp_soft)
2. Untar all CD in this directory
3. Create directory where You will been LDV installs (Ex. /home/LDV5.0)
4. Go in directory where untar CD (Ex. /home/tmp_soft/CDROM1)
5. Start ./SETUP.SH in /home/tmp_soft/CDROM1

Try ...

I am very thankful to you. But in third step, i type the choice: 2 (other instead of cd_rom) and then enter the dirctory of mount point, but i can't find the similar directory like pdf file shows(/tmp/IC5141/.....).

How could i know my computer's cd_rom mount point?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

David

Hi quan228228 !!
In PDF file have the example show !

I can advise =>
1. You will copy your CDs on HD
CD1 into directory CDROM1
CD2 into directory CDROM2
2. Go into CDROM1
3. Installation start !

Try !!!

Added after 3 minutes:

Write the command
ls -laR /tools/ldv50/* > ls.txt

And send this file pls!

I still cant.
Thank you taking so much time help me.

The attached file "ls.txt" shows files in installation directory "/tools/ldv50".
The attached file "cdrom1.txt" shows files of CD1 of software , "cdrom2.txt" shows files of CD2 of software.

I have seen your listing !! And I think the best there is change small letter
to uppercase letter !!
Ex.
fs.0 -> FS.0

TRY !!

When you will be install LDV, clear the directory where it will be installed.

Best regards !

yeah, you are right. I completed installation.
Thank you very very much. You are so nice, enthusiastic, good guy.

"Linux sensing by register of letters" is quitely right. At the beginning, i always change the uppercase letter to lowercase in setup.sh file, because there are less change to do than modifiying fs.* to FS.*.
Ok, i understand, linux is sensing by register of letters. This is the cause why i cant install the IC50 early.

Thank you very much. you are something.

David

I always make files into iso files, then mount them in /mnt
