Recently my multimeter, model DT9205P, burned out
But instead of buying a new one, I would like to repair it,
but the damaged U3 element (marked in the picture) has a burnt hole, so it is impossible to read anything from it.
Does anyone have a similar multimeter and could tell me what to solder there?

It looks more like SOT-89 than SOT-223, you can clarify by measuring the width.

Most likely a linear voltage regulator.

What caused the failure? Depending on the cause, there's a good chance that more parts defective.

Hi,

one trace seems to go to the reverse mount LED.
A LED needs some fixed supply (VCC / GND) and a controlled signal connection.
Thus the device in question may be a transistor or a linear regulator.

A more detailed photo of the part (marking) could be helpful.

I agree.

But fixing this DMM which has been victim of some of the worst Youtube product reviews like "the worst DMM" may have some reasons based on quality control.

Now aliexpressUS can't sell them cheap enough even at $1.44 + shipping if not over $10 order to deplete all stock.
