opcvo lcd

I have a display module that came out of an office phone, and I am trying to find out what it is, the controller that runs it, and how to interface with it.

The numbers on the back of the board are
CD74601
Rev. 3
OPCVO

It appears to have 2 chips, both covered by a black blob.

It has a 14 pin ribbon cable, and 14 pin thru hole socket.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.
I can take pictures of it if you want, though they will be of low quality, as i only have a camera phone.

Is it possible to take some pictures of this display and post it here?
How many lines and columns it has?

primarily the two chips are the encoder/decoder for the LCD display in that phone. Is the LCD display of your phone is monochrome?

Added after 24 seconds:
