hello fellow members,
i want to have information regarding implemtation of PLC with embedded microcontrollers and to interface it with some industrial application. Also can it be used for remote sensing and control application??? Can anyone suggest me some the applications with which a standalone PLC can be interfaced??
thanx!!!!

Do you want to use a microcontroller and a PLC??? For an idustrial application (remote sensor dependant control or otherwise) especially when you'll only be implementing the system once I would use PLC's. Hardware costs will be more, but development costs/time will be lower. As far as PLC applications they're used for all kinds of situations. One example would be a manufactured piece is coming down the line and a gate is used to stop the piece(s) prior to entering the machine so there is no overlap. Two "eyes" are used to control the gate. One for part exiting machine and one for part entering machine, plc input would be eyes and output would be a relay to control an air cylinder or something...and so on... Most would be plug and play bought directly from a supplier and then just read the specs for all the hardware.
