Hi all

I'm looing for A high power PWM - input/ output 0-400 VDC in order to drive an electric car.

All of the devices I've found for these voltages rates are about 50"

I must find a device that I can fit in a car

Thank you all

You probably want to separate the PWM function from the power path.
Look for suitable bridge drivers and feed them from a standard PWM.

You're not going to get a "PWM in a can" that is capable of
the power dissipation required, I'm pretty sure. Figuring that
(say) 50kW motor power is going to leave 5000W of heat in the
power electronics, you will be wanting some serious heat sink
area. The 0.1 - 1C/W thermal impedance you might get from a
DC-DC module is just going to fry. You probably want IGBTs on
a force-cooled heat rail (custom).

You should expect a better effciency than 90%, but power dissipation is still a problem. Today's hybrid cars are mostly using water cooling for both power electronics and electric motor.
