PCB's can be made by using the thermal transfer by an iron. This method was improved in this device. Using a heating module from a laser printer or a photocopying device(xero), a thermal transfer can be made. The temperature needed is over 200 Celsius degrees. This high temperature will cause the shells of the drum melting, the same with the gears, therefore the gears were manually instituted from duralumin discs, bowls from teflon and the bowls of the platen from brass.
The motor is 23V AC. There is a double on/off switch – the first one switches the transformer (starts the drive), the second one switches the regulation of tension on the triac and the heater. The potentiometer is used for temperature adjustment. After work, the potentiometer should be moved to 0 in order not to overheat the platen. The heater switches off and the drum rotates.
The laminate plate should be passed through the device 8-10 times (including couple of times diagonally). The last 2 times the laminate should be turned down (it caused a good clamping).
