my first problem is I'm not entirely sure where to put the files I find on the LTspice user's group. Here's what I got so far:

There's the actual folder, in this case it's called 74HC4511 and I've put it in C:\Program Files\LTC\LTspiceIV\lib\sub.
Then there's the DVIEW.LIB file... but, since I've already have a file named that because I've previously installed the entire 74HCT series, the computer asks me if I want to replace that file. I'm guessing I do not. I've tried opening both and they seem to contain the same information, but I might be entirely wrong on that.
Next there are the two .asy files, dlatch.asy and dview6.asy and I'm putting these in the C:\Program Files\LTC\LTspiceIV\lib\sim\Digital folder.

so here's what happens when I then try to use this component. First off, the first one available to me "._dview15" contains no component... and if I click on it then my cursor completely disappears until I hit escape.

the next and last choice is the "dview15" which has 30 unnamed pins. keep in mind, the 74HC4511 should only have 16 pins, two of which are Vcc and ground, which I would hope wouldn't even show up.

should you want to check out the site I'm getting these files from, it's here:

So... LTspice gurus... what am I doing wrong?
