Following this idea, a short explanation of "IOIO" would be appropriate.
IOIO is the name of a usb connected development board that lets you use a computer as a microcontroller. My thought is that coupled with an android device or raspberry pi you might be able to do some really cool stuff. But, I have never tried doing any sort of hacking with android devices nor have I used ioio. I also dont recall offhand if it officially supports android or if anyone has managed to hack android to work with it.
