b4 antenna

Hi,

I need help to simulate an antenna (extended inner conductor coaxial antenna) as shown in the figure (Fig2).

It should give properties similar to a 2-wire dipole antenna (radiation pattern, S11<-10dB, etc).

I've tried to simulate in HFSS. But i cannot get a compromise between low reflection loss and a 90degree directivity.

Was wondering anyone has tried to simulate this problem too??
Thank You.

Not realy an antenna but i am trying to simulate a multiocatve linear sonar array.

Hi salem_sajid,

Are u using HFSS as the simulator? Do u have the HFSS program for ur project then? I would like to check my model using urs as a reference..

Because I'm very new to this software;
and I think the problem why i cannot get the dipole characteristic for my coax project is because of the incorrect definition of the excitation (port), and boundaries conditions.

Thank You.

Cheers
