hi,

I want to change the lights in my kitchen
they are now some 20w halogen bulbs, with a power supply giving some 11v ac rms

I want to replace them with led stripes...
they need 12vdc and 1 amp for the stripe I use.
I want to keep the halogen transformers already in place as they are not easily removable...

I use a 2 Amp diode bridge and a 150µF capacitor just after
it is working but the diode bridge gets too hot and I must use another scheme or it wont last a long time like this ...

what should I use for this ? a buck regulator ?
is it normal that a 2A diode bridge gets so hot with "only" 1 Amp throught it ?
does anybody have another way to handle this problem ?
thanks.
