Hi,
i want to build a overdrive distortion ckt for my semielectric guitar.
i'm having problem in designing preamplifier for my guitar. can you suggest some preamplifier ics.

and what exactly overdrive means????

Hi!

If you want a good clean guitar preamp, go to **broken link removed**. On that site you'll get plenty of information about amp/preamp building and theory. I've made the guitar amplifier/preamplifier from before mantioned page by myself and it's well worth the effort. If you don't need power amp, use only the preamp stage.

If you need good blues/classic rock distortion, try this: **broken link removed**. It's in slovenian language, but schematics and PCB layout are readable by everyone, aren't they? If you need additional information, ask me for translation. This distortion unit works wonderfull for me.

can someone explain me the difference between gain and volume? is it just the emplacement of the pot that change ... one before the amp and the other after ?
