Gsm: NOt able to recieve the command "OK"

I am interfacing GSM modem with P89v51rd2. am able to send the SMS from the GSM modem SIM300 when interfaced with microcontroller . But I am not able to program my controller to decode the message from gsm to micro controller. For example when i send AT command it will send OK. I dont know how to receive "OK" in micro controller.
