GRIN lens.
Does anyone know what exactly it is? how does it exactly work?

Correct me if i am wrong,
here is my understanding :
Does it only allow one direction of wave to go through?
Example : i shine in a halogen lamp into GRIN lens. We know light is TEM,consist of TE n TM wave. I just wan a TE to pass through therefore i put a GRIN lens which only allows TE direction waves to pass through into a single mode fiber optics.

Is this so ?
pls correct me if i am wrong.

Pls advise.

Thank you,

Regards,
wai kin.
