GPRS vs SMS Which one needs more signal strength?

SMS or GPRS which one needs more signal strength? I am using the SIM908 module. All I need to do is to call a URL.

I'd say GPRS needs more, I am not really sure but from what i know I saw this threat that https://www.edaboard.com/threads/287726/, hope that helps you out
