how gprs transmits data

I have to use a gprs module in my graduation project
to transmit a data input by a pc. Data entered by a
keyboard will be send microcontroller with a serial
port, then it will be send Gprs modem by the help of
microcontroller. The last step is: data will be send
the PC screen.
I couldn't decide which gprs module is reasonable
for me.If you can help me about choosing the right
gprs module, I will be happy. Sorry for my poor
english. Also I need documents about this project,
(serial connection, right devices etc) if you have please send me.)

Well, use the possible low cost module with tcp/ip build in stack... some members of eda board use m22 module from benq and other module from SIMCOM, check more about these modules in eda forum...

How can PC receive data from GPRS?

hi radiql,

as I know, there is some kind GPS module based on ST2051 chip with core GPS processing SW transmits GPSD through the uart. At my last project of GPS receiver with this module, u can get the data very easily by the hyper terminal or smth else has the serial data receiving function.

it's easy to find the module with serial port.

How can PC receive data from GPRS?

Gprs Module will send data to my server over Internet. Then I will take it with a simple program.

Added after 20 minutes:

I chose Gm862-Quad module of Telit for my project. Anyone who worked with this module before?
Evaluation kits of this module are too expensive, so I have to design a board. I havent got much information about how to perform this. I am waiting your supportings about Gm862 module. thanks

I use Taiwan made GM863 Evaluation kits, much cheaper
