Since late october i've been collecting green beer bottles and now you can see results. Yes, christmas tree is made up of bottles. Bottles are tight together by polimeric glue and bamboo shoot.
In every outside bottle are placed 4 bulbs from christmas lamps, they are in series connection.
Controll system for lights: two recycle boards .
Main board with ATMeg32 controll 4 main levels via 4 PWM channels.
Second board with ATMeg8 controll fifth level that is rgb lamp via 3 PWM channels.
All device is powered by ATX power supply, Processors 5V, bulbs 12.
I didin't measure current take, but one still working branch ( 4 bulbs) is about 0,13A and all lover level 2,8A.
Tree have 3 light modes, you can see it at the movie http://www.dailymotion.pl/video/xbjhjq_choinka-studencka-2009_tech. Third mode is 3 christmas songs ( check movie at 3:30). At the movie you can see all work modes.
Software need only 40% flash ram of ATMeg32. I wanted to make sound command in diffrent way, but couldn't start in bascom so i've wrote c++.
All construction take a lot of time because my help from my room mades was very small - they'vejust drunk the beer, and made christmas songs.
For rgb lamp we have diffrent software.It's nothing special, work with 2 flash modes - smooth pass blue - green - yellow - red - yellow - green- blue - violet and again, and strobe mode with turn frequently.
At live visual effect is much better. Construction look nice, and make great impression.
