Well, I'm using DipTrace and they've recently announced that it's gonna be a Gerber X2 export for manufacturing feature in the upcoming release of their software. I'm googling now, but I'd like to know if anybody know anything about Gerber x2 from their own experience. What's the difference with good-old Gerber. Is Gerber x2 better than ODB++ and what's the difference between those. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Your starter on Gerber....

ODB++ has the advantage of being used extensively and the majority of front end tools used by the PCB manufacturers are often based on Valor software
https://www.mentor.com/pcb-manufacturing-assembly/
that just happened to introduce the ODB++ spec.
Press one button and out pops you PCB manufacturing data with ODB++, love it and wish it was universally used, it would make life simpler or even IPC-2581; that seems to have lost steam again....
