This garage heater is based on a heater on gas oil for vehicles, boats etc, powered by 12V of constant current. It is a heater from VEB Sirokko Geratewerk Neubranderburg (NRD) of 265.02 type.
List of elements:
- heater with fuel tank and control panel
- angles and bars for the frame (30mm)
- toroidal transformer 230/12V 300VA
- bridge rectifier 50A
- heat sink for the bridge
- voltmeter (1-25V)
- frame with a safety fuse 25A
- 4 wheels 120mm including two moving with brakes
- cables 2,5mm
- power cord with a plug 230V
- backlit main switch
- screws, nuts, connectors, etc.
- 130mm pipes for fumes disposal, rosettes and elbow 130mm 90 degrees
Assembly:
After making the frame of angles, painting, you can mount the heater and other elements on it. Remember to place the fumes pipe as close to the heater as possible. It should protrude outside the wall about 40cm (the whole exhaust is 130cm long).
Car aggregate works on 12V at a significantly large power consumption. This power consumption is generated by the glow plug (start up takes about 30 seconds) powered by 6V through a wire resistor. Except the glow plug, the fan motor and the coil of fuel feed pump coupling consume current. To ensure enough current, the device uses a transformer (which can be disconnected from the supply by the main switch), which should provide up to 25A. Current 12V flows further to the bridge rectifier mounted on the heat sink and the through the safety fuse to the aggregate and voltmeter.
Functions:
The device gives the opportunity to heat with full power or half of it. It can be also used for blowing not-heated air.
Power of the heater is about 14,5kW at about 1,8l of fuel consumption per an hour of work with full power, temperature of hot air at the outlet is about 128 degrees Celsius.
