I have recently seen many professors, including Thomas Lee at Stanford (of CMOS RFIC fame) and Dohhee Ham of Harvard (Hajimiri's PhD student) now going biotech chips, for checking DNA, blood etc.
Now, if THESE guys think it's a good idea how about the rest of us analog IC guys?
At some respects, biological science will dominate this centry. Also this is the field where money flows. NIH (National Institute of Health) is the only government based research institute who get promoted bugget in fiscal year 2005.
i completely agree with u! they are one of the most complex research fields! much to be explored... to rediscover everything in a different and more more efficient sense.. its high time we start on them too!
