Fuse rating Ampere or voltage

Dear friends,....I always wonder why rating of the fuse is mentiones with voltage like 230Volt 6 Ampere...and generallyy fuse protect the circuit form ovet current...please give your opinion regarding the voltage rating of fuse..//////
 

It's to do with what happens if the fuse burns out. If you use a fuse with insufficient voltage rating it's possible for an arc to jump the gap where the wire broke. High voltage fuses are designed to leave a wider gap and are usually vaccum or gas filled. You can use a fuse at any voltage below it's rating but have to be careful if you go above it.
