4046 fm demodulator

Hello!

I am doing a project which involves frequency demodulation, I am using the CD 4046. I have connected it in frequency demodulation configuration. However my ouput and at any carrier frequency I am gettting a triangular waveform at less than 20mV and at about the 10 - 100 Khz frequency.

Also my demodulated signal "rides" on that signal, therefore my signal is noisy.

Are there any troubleshooting techniques any of you guys can give me. THANKS!!!

cd4046 demodulator

Personally I wouldn't use CD4046 as FM-demodulator. So far I haven't come across even one properly working demodulator based on this IC.
Different story with ICs such as NE564: always works veery well and you can find plenty of applications and diagrams on the web.

Anyhow, if you would like to continue with 4046 could you pkease advice your configuration, LPF (R3, C2) values and VCO C1 and Rs values ..
