Has anyone done any comparison of these structures and the old slow wave structures as used in twt and other microwave valves/tubes?

Is there some theoretical limit where the conductor has to be so small to allow the zigs and zags that the series resistance degrades the performance more than the contortions improve it?

There is company in Spanish, and it produces fractal antenna.
Many papers come out from its people.
