Dear,

I am a student in master degree and I have to work on an algorithm for the linearization of defined software radio (mainly to linearize harmonics and intermodulation produced by IQ modulator). I don't know a lot about hardware so I have several questions about it.

I use a previous work explained in an article. In this work, the test-bed is composed of 1 Altera DE3 ( https://www.altera.com/education/univ/materials/boards/de3/unv-de3-board.html ) (FPGA), 1 DAC5682z EVM ( **broken link removed** ) (for the TRF3703 IQ Modulator) and 1 ADC/DAC board.

I can have an Altera DE2 ( https://www.altera.com/education/univ/materials/boards/de2/unv-de2-board.html ) from my lab. What would be the result to use the DE2 instead of the DE3? Because the DE2 is slower than the DE3 I may not be able to run the algorithm in real time right?

Do you have any knowledge about the DAC5682z EVM? Could I have an other modulator cheaper with a similar result (my budget is limited...)?

I guess the ADC/DAC board is the component to make the link between the hardware and my computer (the input signal would be produce by matlab). However this board is included in the DAC5682z EVM or I should purchase this apart? If I should purchase it apart, can u give me an example of what I should take?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Ludovic

I want to answer to this question.

the maximum band width of this modulator is ~500MHz. which BW you need? If you need a low BW link,, It's better and cheaper to have a low rate DAC
