Using now Athlon XP2800 with 512MB PC2100 CL2.5 RAM for Quartus II 4.0 Windows XP.

Would be there a great benefit upgrading RAM in size and especially in speed like PC3200 CL3 or even CL2.5? (haven't seen PC3200 CL2 yet ;o).

Motherboard is Asus A7N8X-Deluxe...so it supports 400FSB...

Is there a VHDL/Verilog benchmark test for design software?
 

Can download any open source IP to evaluate? And you can check with software manual about recommended memory size & FPGA device size.
