flash memory corrupt

The firmware in a AT90S8515 seems to corrupt when there is electrical interference nearby. When there is a static electricity fire(like the firing of a BBQ ligher), the circuit go dead and the flash memory seems corrupted. Do anybody know what's the possible reason? Thanks.
