Fixed point scaling

How do I perform fixed point scaling in TI c54x or c55x? Anybody got an example to show me please? Take for example if i divide 10000 by 16384, how do I express the fractional value?

Thanks

Re: Fixed point scaling

Hi

You can use Q format o show fractiona number. in this format al number have a integr part and a fractional part.
In Q15 for example one bit(MSB) is used for sign and other 15 bits are used for fractional part. so all nuber are between -1 & 1. so dividing to number in (a/b) whic a is less than b resukt in a number which is still less than one. For more information about this format use search engines.

Regards.
