dear all....
can somebody suggest a book where they have explained finite element method by solving semiconductor equations and not heat equations........i am trying to built a simulator of semiconductor devices and could not understand the application of method in semiconductor equations

Came across these papers sometime ago, is this the application of FEM you are looking for?

Plently of references at the end of the papers!

Hope this helps in your quest.

yes.........i have simulated the pn junction by plotting one dimensional poisson's equation by the element method...........problem is that it is a combination of linear elements........the electric field which is derivative of potential comes as a step function even though the shape of the potential is coming correct.......if i use basic fitting the equation is coming correct........number of elements taken is not small.......its 2^10-1 inside elements.........do i have to us sparse matrix technique for getting more elements or these elements are enough.....what am i doing wrong in the simulation?..........
