Finding the energy for the transmitted symbols shown below for the 16-QAM and 4-QAM techniques. The values of each symbol in the complex plane are shown in the constellations shown below as attachments. I think the formula to solve for the energy of the transmitted symbol is

I can use assistance implementing this into Matlab for the 16-QAM and 4-QAM techniques. The problem statement is shown below in the attachments. Thank you in advance!
