Finding numerically zeroes of a complex function

Hi,

can anybody please explain an outline of the algorithms for finding zero(s) of a complex function. Both analytical and non-analytical functions are of interest. Maybe even names of the methods will be helpful so I can do a search for details afterwards.

I suspect, before you're done searching, you'll find that the "complex zeros" of a complex function are more relevant than the "real zeros". I have PM'd you a paper that presents the concept of complex zeros. I also have a text with a chapter on these.
(it is home, but I am not - maybe by the weekend...)

thanks for your reply and your PM. However, I am interested in zeroes of general mathematical complex functions occuring in some EM numerical problems, not from signal processing point of view. I think that the class of the function I would have to work with is called metamorphic functions, but I would also like to know how to find complex zeroes of more general complex (non-analytic) functions. These topics are very poorly covered in the text books I have if covered at all.

I went briefly trough the paper you were so kind to attach to your PM and think that it is limited to signal processing - sampled signals are discussed thee.
