final year electronics project

Hi all

I am a final year BE Electronics student looking for some good topics for my final year project. Your suggestions are most awaited , preferably something related to microprocessors. Please provide some related links/material.
Thanx in advance.

Guys....

Can somebody help me out on my Final year project topic ????

you can ask the question in the ASIC design , microcontroller or the dsp board. microprocessor is too big for a BE project.

Hi Kazzam,

The problem with your question is you really haven't given that much information.

A microprocessor project? Really you have unlimited options there as microprocessors are so versatile.

I would suggest you give a bit more information about what you are interested in and what your major final year subjects are you will get on much better with your project if you are interested in what you are working on. If you really want some off the cuff ideas what about.

1. Robotic control, perhaps a robotic device that can learn an action or task through learning from mistakes. i.e. a device that can navigate a maze.

2. Capacitvely controlled musical instrument. Use a touch pad screen sensor to drive a microcontrolled musical instrument.

3. Basic home device controller. A device through programming that can control basic light, heating etc control throughout the home.

Well, I have always regarded microprocessors, FPGAs, DSPs, microcontrollers etc as tools to implement things with more research value, in a final year project.

You can perhaps implement some DSP algorithms on microprocessor.

How about implementing some "Adaptive Digital Filter", that way you'll have a practical and worthful project in the field of DSP.

or You could implement some Image Processing algorithm. Interface with a digital camera and maybe perform image compression or encoding of some sort.

or if you want to do something simpler, how about implementing some FFT algorithm.....

If you are more interested towards Industrial Electronics, you could work on some kind of a Distributed Control System or maybe a Robot ... all ofcourse based on Microprocessor. There is then also the possibility of implementing a PID Controller for performing some simple control task using a microprocessor.

If you are interested in VLSI design, you could study the architecture of some simpler microprocessor and implement the same on an FPGA using Verilog or VHDL.

HOPE THIS HELPS.

microprocessor project suggestion

My project was a totally discrete FM stereo transmitter, but it was quite elaborate. It depends on if you want to go digital or analog.

Prentice, N4VBH

musical light project

you can do embeded projects using microntroller 894051. its somewhat easy...

Jus search the microcontrollers section, there you will find lots of projects.

Hi zeeshanzia84

Ur Image Processing algorithm idea seems quite interesting. Can u plz give me some more details regarding the same.

electronics project in rfid

hi kazzam

If you really want to do something different with microprocessor/microcontroller, then
you can go for project like "RFID system". This is Radio Frequency Identification System.
You just search out RFID on Google you will get lots of material on it.
Well, In market RFID modules are available. In your project you have to make interfacing between Microprocessor and RFID module for detection of tag code.
The other end of RFID module will be connected to a simple loop antenna.
First read basics of RFID then all picture will be clear to you.
If you feel that this project is big for Engineering level, then try to do it with 2/3 group of student.

hi Kazzam,
as i said RFID is Radio Frequency Identification System.
search for detials on google.
well,RFID mostly used in tracking system, a tracking system which can track moving objects, for example animals in jungle,so that we can find location of the object, if its in range of RFID antenna.
This is just one application. you will find lots of application of RFID.
Thanks

Have you thought of making a toy with spider legs, using micro controllers. This is what I am doing now.

You can do in either DSP, Communications, Embedded Systems, and VLSI. A broad category i can define the electronic applications.

What are the requirements of the course set for the project?
Did your school define the complexity of the project?
