hello,

the offline CFL ballast on page one of

http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datasheets2/34/343132_1.pdf

...does zero voltage switching of the fets (zvs).

In fact, all Fluorescent ballasts of reasonable quality give zvs operation.

so.....please could you tell why an engineer at a big lighting exhibition told me that the fets intrinsic diodes conduct during this circuit's operation.

with zvs, the diodes would never get a chance to come on, since the respective fet would come on and short out the diode before the diode had chance to come on.

so do you know if the intrinsic diodes ever conduct here?
