Fedora Core 5 error: libgcc_s.so.1 must be installed for pthread_cancel to work

I get the message

libgcc_s.so.1 must be installed for pthread_cancel to work

while libgcc_s.so.1 is in application library. I tried to copy libgcc_s.so.1 to /lib or /usr/lib - doesn't help

Does any one know how to fix this?

Fedora Core 5 so

FC5 is using GLibC v2.4, which is not compatible with most of the EDA tools. So, I'll recommend FC4 instead.
