Fan of IBM R50 never stops spinning

Dear everybody,

I have bought recently a IBM R50 and installed Suse 9.0 with Kernel 2.4.
I have noticed that the fan never stops spinning. Note that the problem does not occur under my Windows partition. Does anyone know how to solve the problem ? Is there a problem with the ACPI ?

I have the same problem before and it may be caused by the Power Management CHIP did not supported by the kernel .

Here is my solution . Remove the Battery then you will find the FAN will not keep running always
