Hi, I have a cpld XC9536XL (3.3V operated). One pin is configured as output. Before loading the code configuring the pin as output, a 1K pull up resistor is used and the resistor is tied to 5V. Will it damage the CPLD due to backdriving i.e. from 5V to 3.3V ?

The I/O pins of this chip are 5V tolerant so it should be fine.

Can I configure this pin as 'inout' and can have a pullup resistor to 5V ?
