Hi all, I am looking for a male USB micro connector that has an extended or 'long neck' insertion section at least 15mm. Need this as a temp fix as the female receptacle connector is not flush with the outer surface of a design prototype we have.

Hi,

A, B, 4 pin, 5 pin, micro, USB3.0?

USB micro connector

Is this the tiny trapezoidal type that goes in my digital camera, or external USB enclosure? 1/4 inch long, 1/8 inch high? Suppose you were to envelop a length of coffee stirrer around the cable, and attach it to the plug with hot melt glue? The straw can be a pushrod.

File away all plastic that blocks the plug's insertion. Be careful, the plastic molds the assembly together, and takes strain off the wires. If you remove too much plastic, it weakens the structure. The wires might rip away when you try to extract it from the prototype.
