It's a home made etching tank. The heater mounted is SKALAR 150W. Plexiglass was cut on a special granite cutting machine cooled with water. Some elements were polished with a file. Ready and glued housing was strengthened with an aluminum stand, then finished with a palette knife and polished. It was dyed with an ordinary plastic spray. The holes were firstly drilled, then finished with a file until they get the desired shape.
The whole device was protected by PCB preparation. After that, it was lacquered with transparent paint. The sensor turned out to be a little problematic, but finally it was put in a pipe and flown with epoxy resin, then the pipe was cut and the sensor was ready to be used. A big advantage of that preparation was the fact, that the sensor became really hard. The temperature of etching was set at 40 degrees Celsius. The device reaches that temperature after about 10-12 minutes.
The aquarium showed in the pictures was made of glass, only one wall with wires and sensors was made of plexiglass. If the whole aquarium was made of plexiglass, it would be too light and easy to bend.
The etching runs in sodium persulfate. A metal truss was made of aluminum and dyed, so it can be soaked in sodium persulfate. When a wash is needed, it's easy to take away the aquarium mounted to the base. The aerator is in the back side of the housing.
