Error when running any Alliance tool with GUI

alliance tool help

is anyone using the design tools from alliance???
well i am using windows XP and have installed the latest version of cygwin and have installed the whole package...
but when i run any of the alliance tools( eg. dreal, graal) which need gui it gives me an error : " Error cannot open display"

but other tools that do not have a gui interface work well..

i was wondering if it was due to the X11 server that is used...
can any one please help me on this front... coz i am dead stuck and can't find any solution.....

Hi,

I don't have experience with the cygwin tools, but I worked with alliance on Linux some years ago.

I think the first think that you have to do is to see the value of the DISPLAY variable, on linux and other unix like systems the value should be something like:

$hostname:0.0

where $hostname is the name of your machine.
