After a bit of research I have found that epoxy coating systems are a common in marine boating.

They come as a two part paint and hence will flow much more readily than araldite glue. And it seems I might be able to get them in quantities as small as 500ml (250ml + 250ml) to try out.

And there is a retail boating store not far from me.

I'm not sure what the problem is that you were trying to solve, but yes epoxy resin comes in a liquidy form too -
it is as thin as water pretty much, and when mixed will stay like that for about 24 hours (unlike araldite).
If you're pouring it into a mold, then it needs to have absolutely no holes/gaps in the mold for 24 hours unless you want the
liquid on the floor ; ) Don't say I didn't warn you!.
Oh - and it needs to be mixed extremely well, otherwise it will never set, and will be next to impossible to clean off.
One way of mixing is a very slow-running electric drill (otherwise you'll get air bubbles) with a mixer attachment which could
just be a thick piece of wire made into a circle at the bottom I suppose.
And when it is in the mold, leave it in a warm place for the 24 hours or whatever period is recommended.

I have also read that you can get water based epoxy systems, which would make clean up rather easy. Hopefully I can get hold of a water based epoxy paint. And you can get additives that thicken the paint in order for it to bridge gaps and fill holes.
