Hello,
I have a question concerning the calculation of the energy density.
I have a simulation with both an energy monitor and a field monitor.
As far as I know the energy density is defined as follows:

We = 0.5 * epsilon * |E |^2

However if I calculate the energy density at one point from the value of the field monitor with this formula,
the result is different from the value of the energy density monitor at the same point.

Why is that?

remember that |E | is the magnitude of electric field, no offence ! I know you may know that, so im trying to help.
try to correct your dimensions,
and then remember that the formula should have a integral ,
you could find it in books such as cheng,
and then your E is uniform or not?
I think these are important
reply me A.S.A.P.!
Regards
