Hi,

I'm am attempting to make a 10 second countdown timer circuit using a 7-Segment Dual Digit Display. I would, ideally, like it to countdown from 10 to 0; wait for about another 10 seconds and then restart.

Do you have any idea as to which chip(s) I should use?
I would gladly appreciate a circuit diagram as well, if possible.

Thanks!

You can do this by 2 ways

1) use flip flops to construct a counter, a square wave generator for a 1sec clock, and decoders for displaying
2) use microcontroller (no need of separate clock generator, flip flop or decoders)
