Hi

I have been looking for an electromagnetic valve actuator which may be mounted on top of an aerosol boxes.
I have not found any yet, but will keep searching, but if you know about one i would very much like to know.

I will use this in a test setup where a coolant spray is to be applied on a temperature sensor, and to have this automated would help a lot.
(Yes, we have considered using peltier's)

What is the pressure of aerosol box?
Electromagnetic valve will satisfy your requirement if sufficient pressure in the aerosol box. If no pressure, go with dossing pump.

Electrically actuated valve are given below

I believe what you want is a pair of solenoids with spring return. mount them side by side with room for your aerosol in between them, so the plunger is upwards, mount a bar between the two plungers. Now you will have to adjust the relative heights of the solenoid and aerosol, so the retraction of the plungers cause the bar to drop and push the button on the aerosol.

How about a high torque rc servo with a piece of plastic/ally screwed to the o/p horn in the profile of a cam, so when the servo turns the spray can is activated.

Take out the pcb from the servo and the end stop and connect the motor direct to dc and you have the basis of a peristaltic pump.
