arm7 canbus

Hi guys,
i am supposed to develop Ecos device Drivers to support CANbus on an ARM7 processor.
The target is the Philips LPC2292 ARM7TDMI processor. This device will run the eCos real-time-operating system.
The eCos CAN drivers are supposed to support CANbus using the CANopen application layer.eCos CAN drivers must support standby mode, and wakeup from standby.
How should i go abt developing the code ?

I'm doing almost the same thing except that i'm working on ETRAX 100LX processor.

i'm here (pm).
