Has anyone used Eclipse for embedded development before?

I find Eclipse a very powerful editor with features such as autocomplete, tasks, local history, team, etc. and especially many very useful plugins such as CVS repositories..

previously Eclipse was mainly for Java development, but recently it has released C/C++ plugin (called CDT) which allows us to do editing for C/C++ programs, and compiling/debugging based on gnu gcc.

The rich plugin library is more and more growing due to opensource developers, and we can benefit a lot from these..

Do you know what kind of tools have been built around this Eclipse for embedded development?

Re: Eclipse

Im using SlickEdit and like that but as it is rather expensive I have investigated eclipse as embedded plattform. After som browsing I found this page, **broken link removed**, with a CDT that claims to be useful for embedded ARM development and debugging.

I have installed it and started it but has not had the time to test it in any development case yet.

To get started for ARM i found the document "ARM Cross Development with Eclipse" to be a great starter, can be downloaded from https://www.olimex.com/dev/index.html
